Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is located in a central spot, with easy access to nearby villages and a variety of pleasant pubs and restaurants close by. The rooms were a bit worn but offered a cozy stay, albeit lacking in some amenities. The service was a mix of pleasant welcomes and a rush to finalize payments upon arrival. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with hit-and-miss quality. In terms of location and local attractions, it's great for exploring neighboring areas, although the rear location close to a busy road could be a drawback.
The hotel is in the center of Chipping Norton, making it a good base for touring the Cotswolds. The rooms in the Coach House outside the main building are large and very comfortable, though a bit of a trek from the main reception. The service was courteous and helpful, with a separate heater provided in the room, but lacked follow-up on the stay experience. The location, though smelling of stale smoke, is close to all the villages in the area and offers a mix of convenience and coziness. The dining experience, despite some issues with organization and food quality, was good value for money. The venue offers a mix of old and new facilities to cater to varied tastes.
The hotel was a nice area to local beauty spots, available for us to explore and a lovely old building to stay in. However, the rooms overlooked the road, were noisy despite being double-glazed, and poorly lit making it hard to read. The service was a mix of positive and negative experiences. The breakfast was being packed away early, but they moved our friend's room without us asking. The dining experience had some drawbacks, like missing breakfast options, but the food was generally good.
